“I dared to dream.”

"I dared to dream."

CEO: Mommy Wellness Day Spa Franchise Group

When I look back, those words carry the weight of every risk, every sacrifice, and every triumph that shaped my journey. My dream began when my daughter was just three months old. With R160 000 my father entrusted to me, I opened the first Mommy Wellness branch, not knowing exactly where it would lead, but knowing there was a gap in the Skincare and Wellness Industry that desperately needed to be filled.

At that time, the Skincare and Beauty Industry treated women as though they were all in the same phase of life. But I knew from my own experience that motherhood, womanhood, and life itself are filled with transitions, each requiring unique support. That insight became the heartbeat of Mommy Wellness. What started as a small salon offering pregnancy massage has grown into a pioneering franchise redefining how women are cared for at every stage of their journey.

We expanded to 11 branches, reaching as far as Namibia and Bahrain. Then COVID struck, stripping away much of what we had built. It was a season of loss, but also of clarity. Rebuilding from scratch refined my resilience and sharpened my purpose. I realised Mommy Wellness was never just about treatments, it was about creating a movement of emotional and physical support, a sanctuary where women feel seen, understood, and valued.

One client once told me, “This is the only place I feel seen as a mom, not just a person needing a treatment.” That moment confirmed what I had always believed: we are not simply in the Skincare, Beauty and Wellness Industry, we are in the business of support.

My training at Isa Carstens® Academy gave me the discipline, professionalism, and foundation to build something sustainable. But it was vision, determination, and the courage to innovate that carried me forward. I questioned why every salon offered the same menu, and instead created a customised, phase-based wellness model, something the industry had never seen before.

Today, Mommy Wellness stands as proof that pioneering ideas, rooted in compassion and sustainability, can transform lives. We are expanding globally, continuing to innovate, and constantly asking: how can we serve women better, with deeper understanding?

My advice to future leaders is simple: don’t just learn treatments, learn people. Be brave enough to challenge the norm, to innovate, and to lead with purpose. The industry doesn’t need more salons; it needs more visionaries who dare to dream.

And so, my journey continues, not just as a CEO, but as a woman determined to make an impact. Every day, I am reminded that dreams, when pursued with resilience and faith, can become movements that change the world.
