Course Content

In this programme we will explore Hot Stone Massage procedure and techniques.  The programme consists of an online theory module which will cover the following topics:

  • The history and origin of stone therapy massage
  • Different types of hot stones used in massage
  • Methods of use for the stones
  • Advantages and benefits of stone therapy massage
  • Contra-indications
  • Precautions
  • What to look for when choosing a stone
  • Hot stone massage practical application and techniques

3.5-Day practical training session after the successful completion of the online theory module.
Summative assessment and logged treatments.

Mode of instruction

Online Theory:
Asynchronous learning online on your own schedule.  Online theory modules are divided into sections, with a quiz at the end of each section. A summative theory examination will be written on the first day of your practical training.

Practical Training Session:
Upon successful completion of the online theory section, you will be required to attend a 3.5-day practical training session, including a final practical assessment (Practical dates subject to availability). After attending the Practical Training Session, you will be required to submit a portfolio of evidence of logged treatments performed.

  8. I will not claim compensation for photos taken, voices used, student participation in functions, etc. and accept that any photos used for publicity reasons will be the property of the Isa Carstens Academy.
  9. I accept that all fees are neither refundable nor transferable upon cancellation at any stage after signature hereof and shall be retained as damages / penalty. No variation, modification or waiver of any provision hereof shall be of any force and effect unless reduced to writing and signed by both parties.
